The signs are ominous. Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha haven't spoken a single word in regards to the release date flip-flop of Joker. On the time once they must be celebrating the continuing run of Rowdy Rathore, they're finding themselves in the midst of a situation where they're hearing different plans some other week.
"They are definitely upset with the way in which different announcements was made during last couple of weeks", informs a source, "IT'S apparent that there's added vigour as a result of Akshay-Sonakshi being a hot pair after the success of Rowdy Rathore. However there should be certain stability across the plans; in any case they too must formulate their schedules accordingly."
They have some extent here since the biggest hurdle expected through the promotion of Joker is the dearth availability of the lead pair itself. Reason being that both Akshay and Sonakshi could be off to the Gulf for the shooting of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2.
"The entire cast and crew of Once Upon A Time.... can be clear of the rustic in not only August but even early a part of September", the source adds, "There could be no person around for all of the month to advertise the film. Within the times when road shows and town tours are a must, especially for a movie like Joker which needs an added push as a result of its unique narrative and a special genre, the actual fact that a release date was chosen when Akshay and Sonakshi won't be within the country to speak about the film could be very disappointing."
This is where September release plan still made some sense no less than for the reason that actors would have returned just in time to no less than give one week to the film's active promotion. However as things stand today, it should all happen on a remote basis now, provided they get day out in their hectic shooting schedule.
Says a source attached to the film on condition of anonymity, "If neither Akshay nor Sonakshi are in town, are they expecting second leads Shreyas Talpade and Minissha Lamba to front face the film's promotion? Okay, so the film was sold at a win-win price of under Rs.40 crores but that does not mean one need to be content simply by recovering it. It's this sort of well made film by Shirish and positively requires to be nurtured in order that it might probably flourish. If the location would has been handled a bit of more sensitively and Akshay-Sonakshi were available, the film would have definitely gained further impetus."
Guess we have not heard the last of Joker plans here.
