Gear up for romance, comedy, thriller this Friday
There'll be a treat for cinegoers this weekend. From romantic film “Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai” to erotic thriller in “Jism 2”, from comedy “From Sydney With Love” to 3D animated film “Krishna Aur Kans” — all are set to come back out Friday.
A dramatic love story, “Yeh Jo…”, is ready two teens and the way the enmity between their respective Rajput families creats obstacle of their lives.
Featuring newcomers Aditya Samanta and Nazia Hussain, the music of the film, composed by Anu Malik, too boasts of freshness.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film marks the brand new innings for Shakti Samanta’s banner Aradhana Films, known for romantic dramas like “Amar Prem”, “Kati Patang” and “Aradhana”.
Made with a contemporary approach, the “Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai” cast also includes veteran actors like Mohnish Behl, Rati Agnihotri and Farida Jalal.
The there's “From Sydney With Love”, directed by Prateek Chakravorty, grandson of Pramod Chakravorty.
Starring fresh faces, including Sharad Malhotra, Bidita Bag, Evelyn Sharma and Reshmi Ghosh, “From Sydney…”, made under the banner Pramod Films, is a family comedy.
In the film, Meghaa Banerjee (Bidita) flies to Sdyney once you have a scholarship. She meets Rohit Khurana (Sharad) there and so they gel well right from the start.
What follows is a fun, quirky, emotional and furiously endearing love story.
After family comedy and romantic drama, there's filmmaker Pooja Bhatt’s bold and far mentioned “Jism 2”.
A sequel to 2003 film “Jism”, it marks the debut of Indo-Canadian pornographic actress Sunny Leone in Bollywood. Passed with an A-certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), it also features Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh.
Co-produced by Pooja and Dino Morea, the film is ready a porn star (Sunny), who's hired by an intelligence officer (Arunoday) to become a ‘honey-trap’ for a dreaded assassin (Randeep).
Pooja, 40, said that “Jism 2” might be ‘the most sensual film of our times’ and ‘it is an adult film that targets mature audiences’.
The young audience can beware of “Krishna Aur Kans”, the 3D animated film, that's releasing in four different languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English.
Based at the timeless tale of Lord Krishna, it has a voice cast of actors Om Puri as Kans, Juhi Chawla as Mother Yashoda and Prachi Save as Krishna.
Other voiceover are by Manoj Bajpayee as Nand, Sachin Pilgaonkar as Vasudev, Supriya Pilgaonkar as Devaki, A.K. Hangal as King Ugrasen and Anupam Kher as Gargacharya.
Made under the banner of Reliance Animation, a subsidiary of Reliance Entertainment, the movie will release in over 350 screens around the country.
Directed by Vikram Veturi and written by Kamlesh Pandey, the animation film went on floors after four years of study.
It took the makers another five years to create the magnum opus. As many as 1,200 people has been engaged on the project.

After the critically acclaimed I AM, which also won the National Award, the duo of Sanjay Suri and Onir are actually prepping for his or her next project Chauranga in an effort to be helmed by debutant director Bikas Mishra.
However, what's interesting is the truth that like I AM, even Chauranga would rely partly on online funding from various individuals who feel like supporting the film by financing it. Speaking more about this Onir said, "Yes for Chauranga as well, we're relying partly at the online medium for funding. The remainder is being funded by NFDC and by Sanjay and me (Anticlock Films). Not only for funding, we're even counting on the net medium and diverse social networking sites to scout for talent to work at the film. For instance: we found our publicity designer in Rajasthan and our music director in Bengal during the online medium. We might be also on the lookout for other key cast members."
Speaking more about Chauranga, Onir said, "Chauranga is primarily a love story between a 14 year old Dalit boy and a fifteen year old upper class girl in a village and is predicated on an actual life incident which happened in 2008. The script by Bikas Mishra has already won Incredible India award on the Goa Film Bazaar and another award at Goteborg Film Festival in Sweden. The forged of the film is usually made from newcomers. We plan to start out shooting in September within the interiors of Pune and a few parts in Jharkhand."

With EK THA TIGER releasing in India on Wednesday, 15 August, there may be tremendous speculation about its release within the international markets. Sonakshi hopes for double whammy with Akshay Kumar
Actress Sonakshi Sinha is hoping that “Joker”, her second film with Akshay Kumar, replicates the success in their first movie “Rowdy Rathore”.
“If this film gets a push as a result of our previous film (‘Rowdy Rathore’), then it might be an even thing for us and our producers, who're the same, UTV. If a couple has worked then it eventually benefit in future as well,” two-film-old Sonakshi said here in an interview.
So far she has had two releases – “Dabangg” and “Rowdy Rathore” – and both have entered the Rs.100 crore club.
When asked if she considers himself a lucky charm, the 25-year-old said: “As far because the lucky charm tag is concerned, you've gotten given me that tag and tomorrow it will likely be someone else.”
Her “Rowdy Rathore” and “Joker” co-star Akshay says there's no such thing as lucky or unlucky.
“When films work, then everyone becomes a lucky charm. If you happen to (the reporter) also do a personality role in our film and it works, then you definately will even become a lucky charm. Individuals are a lucky charm,” the 44-year-old said.
“It is a synthetic thing, lucky or unlucky. Be it a boy or a girl, he's lucky. It’s just for your mind,” he added.

Jackky begins shooting for Priyans film
Post the dismal performance of his film Tezz, director Priyadarshan will next be seen directing Jackky Bhagnani in a love story. The yet untitled film features Jackky within the lead in conjunction with South actress Priya Anand.
The film's story revolves around youngsters who fall in love and get married in haste, after which get divorced equally recklessly. In fact, Priyan has already started shooting the film and has completed about 30% of the shoot with a couple of scenes which were shot within the rains.

Mira Nair bereaved

The death happened suddenly and has left Mira shaken and introspective. Friends say she is avoiding all social interaction.

Anushka, John Abraham top sexiest beach body list in India
Bollywood stars Anushka Sharma and John Abraham have topped the list of best bikini and beach body in India while Jessica Alba and David Beckham dominated internationally, in line with a survey.
The ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ actress received 11 per cent votes to top the list. ‘Jism 2′ star Sunny Leone and actress Deepika Padukone came in second with 9 per cent votes each.Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra shared the third spot by receiving 7 per cent of the overall votes while Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Nargis Fakhri rounded off the most efficient five list, said the survey by Hotels.com.
In Indian male celebrities, John swept the poll with 20 per cent votes for the most productive beach body way to his body baring antics in ‘Jism’ and ‘Dostana’.
Hrithik Roshan came in second with 17 per cent votes while Salman Khan came third with 7 per cent. The most efficient five was rounded off by Ranvir Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal.
Internationally, “Fantastic Four” star Alba ruled because the best beach babe with 16 per cent of the votes.
She was closely followed by singer Beyonce Knowles, who stood at second place with 15 per cent of the votes.

I’ve never been aware of my body: Bipasha Basu
Bipasha Basu, who has posed in itsy-bitsy clothes for a bold poster of “Raaz 3″, says she had no reason to rent a body double for the shoot as she is ok with her toned body.
“I have always been comfortable in my skin and not been aware of my body,” Bipasha said in a press statement.
According to insiders, producers were reluctant to approach Bipasha for the shoot, given its controversial nature and had considered using a body double, and later morphing the actress’s face onto the model’s body.
However, Bipasha insisted on shooting for it herself. “When I learnt concerning the concept (of the poster), I MADE UP MY MIND to do it. I had no qualms. It’s my movie and that i need to be shooting for the poster. I needless to say it was required to turn the film’s theme within the right light, so it was the best decision,” she added.
The poster of the horror film features Bipasha in black shorts and a black bikini top. She exudes confidence along with her newly toned, washboard stomach.
“Raaz 3″ is directed by Vikram Bhatt, presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Vishesh Films. It also features Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta.

‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ earns Rs. 7 crore on opening day
Ekta Kapoor is excited with ‘gaalis’ (criticism) and ‘taalis’ (applause) for “Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum”, which has drawn a tight response on the box office with a gap day choice of Rs.7.12 crore.

The prestigious London Film Festival's director Clare Stewart has invited Prakash Jha's latest film Chakravyuh to be premiered on the Festival. A NOVEL honour, considering no Indian film has opened the London Film Festival since Prakash Jha's Mrityudand in 1997.

Aamir postpones Dhoom 3 shoot for sisters birthday

Ranbir pleads guilty to smoking charges levied on him

After creating a mark with hit shows at the small screen, producer Ekta Kapoor made successful films like “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai”, “Shootout at Lokhandwala” and the blockbuster “The Dirty Picture”, but believes her home banner Balaji Films is simply too young to have earned the trust of the audiences completely.
“I don’t think we now have still built that reputation where people will automatically assume that a Balaji film could be very entertaining. So I'M HOPING that once three to four more films release, the audience will trust the banner more,” Ekta said here.
“No one involves watch Balaji films. The tickets priced at Rs.100 and Rs.200 are an excessive amount of. People take it out from their budget, and kids from their pockets. They don’t come for a brand name.
“In films, we're only two-and-a-half years old honestly, before that we were doing one-offs as a company,” added the 37-year-old.
Balaji Motion Pictures’ last film “The Dirty Picture” was an ideal hit and the following from the banner is adult comedy “Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum”, releasing Friday.
Asked is she is afraid of higher expectations after a movie like “The Dirty Picture”, Ekta said: “That was a unique film, that is different. I request the audience to not compare the 2 films.”

Kaun Banega Crorepati 2012 to be back in prime time slot
Game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, to be hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan yet again, could be back in its prime time slot, channel officials said Tuesday.
“It may be a first-rate time show. I can’t inform you the precise slot because we're in discussion we're brain storming the correct time. But certainly it will likely be a chief time slot,” Sony Entertainment Television (SET) senior vice chairman and marketing head Danish Khan told IANS.
“We haven't decided the times however the talks are on. We will be able to soon make an official announcement,” he added.
KBC have been slotted for either 8.30 or 9 p.m. time band so far.
The channel Thursday announced one more marketing and communication campaign “Sirf Gyaan Hi Aapko Aapka Haq Dila Sakta Hai” because the communication theme for the impending season of the sport show.
“The challenge was how can we take the philosophy to the following level. We came up with ‘Gyaan hi aapko aapka haq dilata Hai’ because it’s an excellent factor to empower people. While you see the show you will see that shades of that,” said Khan.

Ranbir Kapoor pleads guilty in smoking case
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor Thursday pleaded guilty, through his lawyers, to charges of smoking publicly during a film shoot in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district about four months ago and sought exemption from personal appearance within the case, a lawyer said.
Kapoor, who was represented by three lawyers, have been accused of publicly smoking at Ghangaur Ghat in Udaipur March 28.
“Harish Vaishanav had approached the court saying that the actor violated the law by smoking publicly. The court issued a summon to the actor May 31. The summon was brought to his house in Mumbai by police recently,” said advocate K.K. Purohit, who represented the actor within the court Thursday.
“We filed an application pleading guilty to the costs under the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act and seeking exemption for Kapoor’s personal appearance before the court,” said Purohit.
Purohit pleaded that the offence was mistakenly done by the actor and he (Kapoor) has assured the court that this type of thing wouldn't be repeated again.
The court has fixed Aug 27 for the following hearing within the case, he added.
The additional chief judicial magistrate had summoned Kapoor to seem before his court July 26 on a complaint that he publicly smoked throughout the shooting of his movie “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” within the town, some 300 km from Jaipur.
According to a Rajasthan law, an offender could face maximum imprisonment of six months or a maximum fine of Rs.200 for smoking in public. – IANS

‘Bol Bachchan’ crosses Rs. 100 crore mark
Rohit Shetty is on a roll! After “Golmaal 3″ and “Singham”, the director’s “Bol Bachchan” has made it to the hyped Rs.100 crore mark on the Indian box office.
Said to be inspired by 1979 movie “Gol Maal”, “Bol Bachchan” was made on the cheap of Rs.70 crore with a cast including Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Asin Thottumkal and Prachi Desai.
The movie collected over Rs. 43.10 crore during its opening weekend after it released all around the country July 6.
It went directly to collect Rs. 66.81 crore within the first week, Rs.24.12 crore in second and Rs. 9.33 crore through the third week, taking the whole box office collections to Rs. 100.26 crore in 20 days, said a press statement from the production company.
Presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision and Ajay Devgn Films, “Bol Bachchan” have been really well received by both multiplexes and single screen audiences. It was released with 2,700 prints. – IANS

The Olympic flame is prepared to go to iconic landmarks far and wide London city on July 26 and one of the crucial esteemed torchbearers is none rather then Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.

Yash Raj Films won't screen the brand new Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger for the family of the previous RAW agent Ravindra Kaushik. The family of the deceased agent has sent the makers of Ek Tha Tiger a legal notice soliciting for a screening of the film.
However, a call was taken by the production house and director Kabir Khan to maintain the film and its content clear of public domain.
Kabir Khan proclaims, "I examine him within the papers. That is the primary time I've heard of him. It's an enchanting story. But it isn't the tale of my film."
Though Kabir won't say any more, one gathers from a source that the film takes Salman on an absolutely different route from Kaushik's story.
Says the source, "Kaushik was caught and jailed in Pakistan. He died in prison across there. Salman's character involves a wholly different end. That's why the film is known as Ek Tha Tiger. He's like an unsolved mystery."

In her letter to Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte, Aman points out that the lives of both horses and humans are placed in danger by having antiquated horse-drawn carriages operate in the middle of heavy city traffic. Numerous injuries and deaths have ended in. 2010, for instance, a 3-year-old child was thrown from a carriage when a horse was startled by a passing car. The kid later died.

Recently, while a vigil was being held in Mumbai for one beleaguered horse who had died, another horse forced to haul a carriage collapsed. What number of more horses and those must become injured or die before horse carriages are banned in Mumbai?
I'M writing so as to add my voice to the campaign by my friends at People for the moral Treatment of Animals (PETA) and citizens' group Mumbai for Horses calling for a ban on cruel horse-drawn carriages. Both tourists and locals are saddened and appalled by the plight of those horses. These gentle animals are sometimes malnourished, injured and ill yet are forced to haul carriage loads heavier than their bone-thin bodies can bear.
In addition, horses and cars don't mix. Horses and those have both been injured or even killed in carriage accidents. In May 2010, a speeding vehicle passed a horse carriage, which caused the pony to jump, throwing the motive force and a 3-year-old child. The kid died a result of accident. In November of that very same year, a horse pulling nine riders on a Victoria collapsed at Gateway of India.
Mumbai has such a lot to offer, however the pathetic spectacle of horse abuse is the very first thing that many tourists see, and it taints their impression of our great city.

This screening made Shanghai the primary Indian film to be screened within the last TWENTY YEARS in Iraq.

Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi finds himself in a place of bother after PVR Pictures filed a criminal case against him in the case of a bounced cheque.
The story dates back to just about 4 years ago when Santoshi was to make a movie for PVR and was even paid an advance of Rs. 1.11 crore. However, when the director did not get a hold of a script and other key elements throughout the stipulated time, he was asked to go back the signing amount by PVR. Santoshi issued a cheque of Rs. 50 lakhs to PVR but as luck would have it the cheque bounced.
Despite repeated follow-ups, Santoshi refuses to co-operate and PVR had no choice but to file a criminal case against him. The filmmaker has to now appear in court on September 7.

This month appears to be a month of heavenly departures in Bollywood. First, it was the ever green Rajesh Khanna, and now its director-screenplay writer B.R. Ishara, who passed today morning, as he was affected by tuberculosis and was undergoing treatment at Criti Care Hospital, Mumbai. Readers may recall that he had suffered an incredible paralytic attack during a Directors' Association meeting last year.

After a huge effect in Rang De Basanti, Siddharth was busy together with his South Indian assignments. He's back on Mumbai with a riotous role in David Dhawan's Chashme Buddoor.
"NOWADAYS I'm doing films in four languages Tamil, Telugu, English and Hindi. That's damn exciting for an actor who always complains concerning the quality of labor offered to him. Mera number aa gaya. I'M in Mumbai when Mumbai wants me. Nothing substantial was offered to me. Once I am in Mumbai I'M asked about my 6-pack. Every young actor in Bollywood has started looking the similar. That's scary. The one way I AM GETTING work in Mumbai is that if the A-listers in Bollywood turn down films. I USED TO BE the 17th actor approached for Rang De Basanti. I USED TO BE probably the 17,000th option for Midnight's Children. I'M lucky Deepa was in Mumbai long enough to listen to about me," says Siddharth with brutal candour.
Siddharth plays the part that Ravi Bawsani had enacted in Sai Paranjpye's Chashme Buddoor.
"And would you think it, Ravi Baswani and that i went to the similar college! Though he was much too senior for me to grasp him. But Ravi could be very dear to me as an actor. I'm reminiscent of him. My co-star Divyendu Sharma who's one of the vital brilliant actors I've worked with, may be from the similar college."
Siddharth thinks the 2 versions of Chashme Buddoor are an international apart. "I'd never dare to check David's and Sai Paranjye's Chashme Buddoor. I DID NOT bring to mind Sai's film even once. There is not any connection between the 2. It's been an excessively liberating experience for me. In Indian cinema, it's impossible to create a graph for a hero's character since the leading man does everything. The inconsistencies of the Indian film-hero are daunting. But I had great fun with my character in Chashme Buddoor. My friends have seen me having fun. But on screen I've never gone to this level of letting-go. IT'S NOT THAT I AM a director's actor. In India that may be otherwise of claiming the actor does nothing, just comes at the sets and asks, 'Character ka naam kya hai?' I've my very own elaborate strategy of approaching a task. But with David and Deepa I surrendered completely. It will have otherwise been impossible to do two such contrasting roles simultaneously."
Siddharth says he did Chashme Buddoor for a lark. "David and i've been desiring to interact for some time. Though earlier projects didn't materialize we became friends. Luckily for me within six months I set to work with Deepa Mehta and David Dhawan. They're the 2 completely contrasting 'D' factors in my life. Both are so ok with the craft. I just needed to go on both the sets and surrender myself to the director. While one was serious business the opposite was fun the entire way."
