Sridevis English Vinglish to open at Toronto

After making a return after almost 15 years with English Vinglish, Sridevi is reaching new heights even before the discharge of her film. English Vinglish produced by Eros and Balki goes to be premiered at Toronto International Film Festival this year that is going to be held from September 6-16.

The film also marks the directorial debut of Gauri Shinde, filmmaker R.Balki's wife. The film goes to be premiered on September 14. All the team can be travelling for the premiere including Gauri, Balki, Sridevi, actor Adil Hussain and French actor Mahdi Nebbou who plays crucial part within the film.

This is a smart achievement for English Vinglish because the organizing committee of Toronto International Film Festival had taken a stand on never premiering a Bollywood movie again following their miffed experience with the Mausam debacle. Though English Vinglish has managed to make this special exception because the organizing members saw portions of the film and were really impressed with the content and decided to modify their mind.

The film is scheduled to join the 'Galas' section for a premiere but isn't a part of the contest. Within the film, Sridevi is playing a lady who doesn't know English and in turn is made to feel insecure by her family and society at large. The tale follows her transformation and the way she eventually overcomes her insecurity.

Speaking concerning the film's premiere at Toronto, R. Balki says, "THE ENTIRE team is thrilled that our film have been chosen within the 'Galas' section for a global premiere on the prestigious Toronto Film Festival. It's an honor when your film is being showcased alongside films by Billy Bob Thornton, Roger Michell, Robert Redford, Mike Newell, Ben Affleck and Mira Nair. Gauri and that i are personally very excited. And hope the arena cheers the comeback of Sridevi- India's only true pan Indian female superstar."
