Chitrangada Singh game for more item songs

Chitrangada Singh 200x215 Chitrangada Singh is open to doing more item songs after her first such song “Kaafirana” was received well.

“I am probably not keen on item songs. But I'M more well-off with dancing at this time. I used to think that I'LL not have the ability to dance but I'M proud of it. If something good is occurring and if Farah is choreographing something, I'D care to do it,” the 36-year-old said here Tuesday at an event held by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

“But I FEEL in any case a movie works on account of it’s content. I'M very sure kids are going to return and revel in it and leave it to you guys to bring enough attention to the film,” she added.

Directed by Shirish Kunder, “Joker” also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade and Minnisha Lamba and hits theatres this Friday. – IANS

Women make 50 percent of country’s power: Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan new photo1 200x215 Megastar Amitabh Bachchan believes in fair education for all, be it the country’s underprivileged or the ladies folk.

The 69-year-old veteran, who's driving home the message of importance of data through his hit reality TV game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati 6″ (KBC), believes half the country’s power lies in its women.

“In smaller towns, girls aren't being allowed education. There's a lot of discrimination and kept in a separate space. I THINK naari hamaare desh ki 50 percent shakti hai (women make the country’s 50 percent power),” Bachchan said here.

The actor said it was time people let their daughters free from the clutches of gender bias and allow them to carve their very own niche using knowledge.

“They should get the similar privileges because the men folk. There are many studies, the knowledge of which indicates that almost all girls from small towns aren't allowed to continue education after the seventh or eighth standard.”

“And people say ‘Why should we let her study, she is going to go after marriage so why should we waste our money on this?’. These words appear to be an abuse to me. And that i believe nobody should think like that,” added Big B Wednesday night on the official press launch of the sixth season of KBC.

The forthcoming season, set to move on air on Sony Sep 7, delves deep into the philosophy of “Gyaan hi aapko aapka haq dilaata hai (Knowledge gets you what you deserve)”.

And Bachchan says he feels proud when girls break the clutches of societal pressures and prove their mettle.

His wife, Jaya Bachchan have been a successful actress, his daughter Shweta Nanda is a well-read lady, and his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai is likely one of the top-rated celebrities and a global icon.

“When girls fight the society, family and circumstances after which they arrive and sit at the hot seat, I THINK proud because they arrive there only on account of their gyaan (knowledge),” he said. – IANS

Viacom 18 backs out of Assi Nabey Poore Sau

Gautham Menon (director of movies like Rehna Hain Tere Dil Mein and Ekk Deewana Tha) had announced his next directorial venture Assi Nabey Poore Sau with Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha in lead roles. The film, a trilingual with also Tamil and Telugu versions, was being produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

However, now the Hindi version have been placed on the back-burner despite 75% of the film being shot. What's more, producers Viacom 18 have disassociated themselves from the project and are actually producing only the Telugu and Tamil versions which stars Nani and Jiiva respectively in conjunction with Samantha. Apparently, Viacom was upset with Menon over a false promise made by him that A.R.Rahman can be composing the music for the film. Rahman hadn't given one of these green signal to the project. There's also buzz that the Hindi version was placed on hold since Menon's last Hindi release Ekk Deewana Tha didn't fare well on the B.O.

Whatever be the reason, Assi Nabey Poore Sau finds itself in a state of limbo as of now.

Ramesh Sippy to direct a thriller Big B may star in it

Finally, after years of abstinence from what he was born to do, Ramesh Sippy is prepared to go back to direction. For the fans of Sippy's timeless cinema-and we refer not only to the pioneering Sholay but in addition to the equally powerful Shakti, Saagar, Seeta Aur Geeta and Andaz - the return of the maestro to movie-making is an important sign of the changing time in Bollywood where the giants had lost the need and how to create landmarks.

Says Sippy, "I'M aware I HAVE NOT directed a movie for a few years. But, I saw no reason to leap into it simply because of a time lapse. I've made films out of very powerful scripts previously. Then I directed Zamana Deewana in 1995, which was not that strong in content. Then I DETERMINED if I DISCOVERED no script worth shooting, I won't direct another film if I DID NOT get the precise script."

Fortunately, for Ramesh Sippy and for us his fans, the fitting script has showed up. And Sippy Saab is ready to explore a genre that he hasn't ever attempted before.

"It's thriller. An out-and-out thriller written for me by Sridhar Raghvan. Sridhar has worked extensively for our production company. He has written the script for my son's Bluff Master and Dum Maaro Dum. After I read Sridhar's script, I instantly felt I USED TO BE ready for direction again," admits the director who made the single-most influential film in Hindi commercial cinema.

There were a few false starts recently. It was reported that Ramesh Sippy was directing a romantic film. But, as he says he has already attempted essentially the most romantic film he could think of, namely Saagar. "The challenge for me is to venture into the unknown each time I direct a movie. Once I directed my first film Andaz, it was considered risky to do a love story between a widow and a widower. The joys in doing a thriller is that I HAVE NOT attempted this genre before."

The details at the moment are being worked out and Sippy Saab hopes to begin his thriller by year-end.

Sighs Sippy Saab, "IT IS A different world since I last directed a movie. Now everything in the course of the technique of filmmaking is more corporatized. So I'm tying up with a company house."

Though Sippy Senior says it's too early to speak of casting, just a little birdie tells us that Sippy Saab can be working again with Big B within the thriller.

Now if the teaming up of the Sholay, Shakti and Shaan combo of Sippy and Bachchan isn't thrilling, then what is?

‘Heroine’ makers move court on smoking scene rider

Kareena Kapoor Heroine smoking

The makers of Bollywood film “Heroine”, starring Kareena Kapoor, Monday moved the Delhi High Court against the guidelines and broadcasting ministry’s order to display anti-smoking messages during smoking scenes within the movie.

The film is scheduled to be released Sep 21.

Justice Rajiv Shakdher issued notice to the ideas and broadcasting and health ministries and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and sought their responses by Sep 10.

The CBFC was also directed to view the movie and file a report in sealed cover on next date of hearing.

The film’s producer, UTV Software Communication, approached the court seeking issuance of a board certificate for the movie without the conditions associated with anti-smoking messages.

The producer also sought the setting aside of letter issued to them by the ideas and broadcasting ministry Aug 2, imposing an extra condition that films that experience smoking scenes should start with a 20-second warning on smoking hazards.

According to the ministry’s letter, producers need to shoot the 20-second message at the actor seen smoking within the film, repeat it in the midst of the movie and still have a static message at the screen through the entire length of a smoking scene.

The petition said the ministry requested the CBFC to advise the film makers to make sure “a 20-second anti-smoking message as approved by the health ministry with voice-over of the actor who's seen smoking within the film to be displayed initially and within the middle (after interval) of the film”.

Another condition imposed on film makers was that a static anti-smoking message must be “displayed throughout the smoking scene within the film”.

Having no objection with the 20-second message in the beginning and within the interval of the movie, UTV’s counsel Parag Tripathi and Atul Nanda opposed the proposed static anti-smoking message during a scene.

“It would kill the creativity of the scene,” the film producer said.

The production house had incurred over Rs.30 crore at the film by July-end, said the producer.

UTV said that the production house have been burdened with the “unreasonable and arbitrary requirement” to display a message during smoking scenes.

The requirement “infringes the constitutional freedom and rights absolute to the petitioner”, said UTV. – IANS

Anshuman Jha - the surprise package of KLPD

The talented theatre actor Anshuman Jha, who made a mark with Love Sex Aur Dhokha (LSD), could be next seen in Amit Chandrra's Kismet Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD) alongside Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat.

Even though Anshuman's character was kept under wraps by the makers, sources with regards to the production house reveal that he's the angry young boy of the film and essays a vital part within the film. The makers don't need to expose his character because it is the surprise section of the film.

The makers also are happy that despite having a meaty role within the film, Anshuman hasn't thrown a fit on not being a part of the promotional campaign till now. He has full faith within the producer as he knows there are big plans in store for him.

Says producer Amit Chandrra, "Every character within the film is vital; with none of them, the film wouldn't be as entertaining. Anshuman was our first choice for this role, as only an actor of his calibre could pull off such an exhilarating character. I WILL NOT reveal much in regards to the role, but Anshuman is someone you would need to beware of within the film'.

KLPD directed by Sanjay Khanduri is slated to release on 5th October.

Confirming these developments, Vikram says, "Yes, the film is complete and censored. But we still need to work a bit of more at the lighting tricks. 3D for me is a well-recognized format and technique. But Raaz 3 is the primary 3D film for the Bhatts' banner Vishesh Films. Heroine makers move court over smoking scene rider

The makers of the Kareena Kapoor starrer Heroine moved the Delhi High Court yesterday against the I & B Ministry's order to display anti-smoking messages through the smoking scenes within the movie. Justice Rajiv Shakdher, who heard the plea, issued notices not only to the I &B and Health Ministries, but in addition to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) seeking their responses by September 10. Not only that, the CBFC was also directed to view the movie and file a report in a sealed cover at the next date of hearing.

UTV Software Communication (Heroine's producer) approached the court seeking a board certificate for his or her film with none conditions touching on smoking. Besides this, in addition they sought the setting aside of the August 2's letter issued to them by the I&B ministry, wherein an extra condition was imposed that the flicks that have smoking scenes should start with a 20-second warning on smoking perils. The said petition had the Ministry requesting the CBFC to advise the filmmakers to verify a 20-second anti-smoking message (as approved by the Health Ministry) having a voiceover of the actor who's seen smoking within the film to be displayed at first and in the course of the film. The similar needed to be played after the interval. If that wasn't enough, there has been yet another condition for the filmmakers which stated that a static anti-smoking message must be displayed at some point of the smoking scene within the film.

While UTV's counsel Parag Tripathi and Atul Nanda agreed to the 20-second message originally and within the interval of the movie, they objected to the proposed static anti-smoking message during a scene, reasoning that it will kill the creativity of the scene.

Son Of Sardaar confirmed for Nov 13 release

The festival of Diwali is usually a large ticket window for our B-town folks. This year too, two biggies, namely Yash Chopra's SRK- Katrina- Anushka starrer and Son Of Sardaar starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla, are slated to clash on the B.O.

However, because the release date of November 13 fast approaches, there were some murmurs doing the rounds that this clash won't happen. However those are only rumours. Son of Sardaar is actually releasing on November 13 and so is Yash Chopra's untitled film.

While YRF's film remains to be being shot, post-production work on Son Of Sardaar is already on in full swing in anticipation of a bumper Diwali day release. A COMPETENT source confirms to us that Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt are currently dubbing for the film in Hyderabad and all the creative and marketing teams are brainstorming on setting up an innovative publicity blitzkrieg.

The production houses backing Son Of Sardaar namely Devgn Films, Viacom 18 Films and YRV Infra & Media have if truth be told lead the way for an all out release and feature licensed the global distribution rights to Eros International. The banners have kick-started their campaign in full swing to release the film with tremendous fanfare and go wide encouraged by positive reports from all their centers.

Well, this certainly puts a rest to all rumors circulating across the film for its release.

Shahid opts out of Maneesh Sharmas next

The start of Maneesh Sharma's next directorial untitled film for YRF was postponed. The film was originally scheduled to move on floor this September.

Both Maneesh and Jaideep Sahni, who has written the tale and screenplay, in conjunction with Aditya Chopra, have taken an artistic decision to incorporate lip-sync songs, which have been earlier not a part of the film.

The unfortunate fallout of that is that Shahid Kapoor, who was to play the lead, has needed to pull out as a result of his other commitments. With three other projects back to back, Shahid isn't capable of readjust his dates to deal with the revised schedule.

Maneesh, speaking on behalf of both Jaideep and himself, said, "Both Jaideep and i've decided to usher in a few lip-sync songs in an effort to must be recorded before we will be able to go on floor. However, it's sad that Shahid has understandably needed to opt out for this reason delay given his packed schedule going forward."

While this development is a pity, YRF looks forward to working with Shahid Kapoor on another project being discussed with him for next year.

Desi Boyz makers face trouble over copyright issue

What's common to the flicks like Rockstar, Om Shanti Om, Ra. One and Jannat 2? Well, these types of films was in news on grounds of copyright infringement. The newest one to sign up for that is Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz, courtesy the scriptwriter-cum-director Shyam V Devkatte, who had filed a case of copyright infringement last year and have been fighting it over since.

Readers may recall that Shyam, who had apparently registered his story with the Writers' Association in 2008, e-mailed a replica of his story to Eros International. And bother started when the said story was allegedly used for Desi Boyz without his knowledge. That propelled Shyam to file a complaint on the Amboli Police Station under Sections 63 (infringement) and 64 (seizure of infringing copies) of the Copyright Act. Not only that, he also filed an individual complaint with the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court and forwarded the similar to the Zonal DCP. Meanwhile, Eros, on their part managed to get a stay order on it.

The latest development is that Shyam has now decided to take the battle to the following level. What followed was that a bailable warrant was issued against producer Eros International's Krishika Lulla and a summon was sent to director Rohit Dhawan in regards to the same. On his part, Shyam said that the opposite co-producers Jyoti Deshpande and Vijay Ahuja will undergo police enquiry and thon their earlier plea on the High Court was dismissed. He also added that for the last two hearings held at the magistrate court, none of them were present. And because a summon and a pasting summon were issued to Eros yielded no results, an arrest warrant was issued by the Amboli Police Station yesterday evening.

Krishika Lulla, on her behalf evaded commenting anything over this issue as she was travelling. She only said that she is going to inspect the problem when she returns back.

Industry, fans warmer to me than before: Shiney Ahuja (Interview)

Shiney Ahuja 200x240 Shiney Ahuja is calmer and introspective after his unforeseen tryst behind the bars – and that’s for the reason that actor strongly believes in learning out of all bitter and sweet experiences. The only positive thing in his tough phase, he says, have been the expansion within the warmth of the industry members and his fans towards him.

One would think his fraternity and fans would became averse to his popularity, especially after he was hounded by accusations of rape, but Shiney says “there’s a large number of warmth and love”.

“Irrespective of what have been sometimes reported or said, whenever I'VE gone amongst people, their reactions was just about the similar that was earlier. Now, in fact, there's a relationship that they feel they've with me,” Shiney told IANS in a candid interview.

“There is such a lot of heat and love. They (fans) keep saying they're looking forward to me to return in another great film and searching forward to a different great performance. These are the type of things I AM GETTING to hear,” he added.

Shiney was arrested in June 2009 following charges of rape, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation levelled by his maid, charges he denied. He spent nearly five months behind bars.In March 30, 2011, he was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment by a Mumbai fast track court, but he challenged the sentence within the Bombay High Court. He's currently on bail and facing every day with a grin. His confidence seems a tad dented, but he doesn’t pull away from the media – only he's more careful about selecting the proper words.

The actor is now training resurrecting his Bollywood career. And he says his friends within the film industry was extremely supportive to assist him regain his stand.

“The perception could be very different for those who know you as an individual. For them you're a person and never a product. So individuals who know me, they think in me; so that’s the explanation there is not any change of their perception in any respect. In fact, now there may be a lot more warmth which wasn’t there earlier,” the 38 year-old said.

“I feel I'M very fortunate because I'VE some good friends like Sudhir Mishra and Anurag Basu from the film industry who've encouraged me prior to now besides. I AM HOPING I WILL continue to present in my best,” he added.

Whatever the obstacles in life may be, you will need to learn the most efficient out of them, believes the actor, who tasted success with films like “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi”, “Khoya Khoya Chand”, “Gangster” and “Life… In A Metro”.

“I think there are incidents or accidents that happen in everybody’s life in some or the wrong way. Otherwise also sometimes things happen which aren't in our control, but what we take out of that have is actually in our control,” he said.

“So my constant search and my constant endeavour within the entire phase of my life is to take something greater than what I'VE given to this actual experience or time,” he added.

Last seen in “Ghost”, Shiney is now looking ahead to the discharge of “Har Pal” and “Ek Accident”. He's also reading a large number of scripts.

“I has been reading numerous scripts lately. And just keeping myself on toes simply to decide what I WOULD LIKE to soak up next,” he added. – IANS

Punjabi film to be released in Pakistan

ajj de ranjhe 200x276 What the Salman Khan-starrer “Ek Tha Tiger” couldn't achieve, Punjabi movie “Ajj De Ranjhe” has accomplished — it will likely be released in Pakistan.

The Punjabi film is scheduled for worldwide release Sep 7, director Manmohan Singh said Sunday.

He said it'll even be released in India, Canada, New Zealand, Britain, the US, Australia and European countries in conjunction with Pakistan the similar day.

Pakistan has banned on “Ek Tha Tiger”.

“Pakistan has an excessively big Punjabi population. We're thinking about the discharge of our film in Pakistan,” said Manmohan singh, who's an ace Bollywood cinematographer.

“This is sort of a dream come true within the context of Punjabi films,” he added.

“The Pakistan release will provide Punjabi cinema with a brand new Punjabi market. Without including Pakistan’s Punjab, the ambit of Punjabi audience could be very limited.”

PCs debut single to add at Thursday Night Kickoff

Priyanka Chopra would be the featured artist for Thursday Night Kickoff - the pregame show for NFL Network's Thursday Night Football. Priyanka's debut single 'In My City', featuring Will.I.Am and produced by RedOne (Lady Gaga) and Brian Kennedy, would be the music bed for the intro to Thursday Night Kickoff. Earlier this week, Priyanka shot the spot so that they can air every Thursday night before and after Thursday Night Football on NFL Network. Thursday Night Kickoff begins September 13th with the 185th meeting between Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers - the most-played rivalry in NFL history.

"It's been an honor working with the NFL Network to create this sort of fantastic launch for my debut single," said Priyanka. "I'm really thrilled to bring my music and a marginally of India to America and its football fans."

"We're excited to showcase Priyanka's talent and worldwide attract millions of NFL fans around the United States," said NFL Network Executive Producer Eric Weinberger. "'In My City' will set the easiest tone for Thursday Night Kickoff which leads into all the 13 primetime Thursday Night Football games on NFL Network."

The release of the whole song and accompanying video for 'In My City' is anticipated later this year.

Pulkit Samrat signed for Fukrey

They say, in Bollywood, attractiveness may sometimes are inclined to go unnoticed, but not talent. One such talent is Pulkit Samrat, whose debut film Bittoo Boss failed on the BO. But, it sounds as if Pulkit's talent didn't go unnoticed. That explains the explanation why producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have signed him up for his or her upcoming flick Fukrey.

Pulkit, who just can't stop thanking his stars, said that he considers himself very lucky to have gotten this offer. He also added that Farhan and Ritesh noticed his work in debut film and called him for Fukrey.

When asked concerning the film, he said that, Fukrey basically means good-for-nothing. And it is a film about these guys who've big dreams but no money. More information about the remainder of the forged are awaited.

Aamir Khan enters Brazil with Fanaa

Aamir Khan could also be currently in Chicago shooting for Dhoom 3. However, he's ready to make his presence felt in Brazil. Fanaa, which had arrived greater than half a decade ago, is seeing a theatrical release within the country. What's surprising is this is one development which has caught even those related to the film by surprise.

"What is the entire more important is that the film is neither seeing a festival release neither is participating as part of any delegation. It's being given a mainstream release. The film has already released over the weekend passed by and given the choice of theaters and shows which have been planned for it, seems like it'd be enjoying an extended stay", informs our source.

This will also be evidenced from the truth that the film has arrived nationwide across various states like Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco and Maranhao Federal District. This makes it a big arrival not only for Aamir but any Bollywood film within the country, given the truth that Fanaa release is being checked out as flagship collaboration between Brazil and India.

When contacted, Kunal Kohli, the film's director, was surprised on the developments. Completely unaware about his biggest commercial success till date finding this type of reception in faraway Brazil, he could barely conceal his excitement.

"IT'S news to me and honestly quite fascinating as well", he said, "It is quite humbling to peer a movie of mine travelling internationally and that too after six years. Greater than anything else, this can be a good piece of stories for Indian cinema. I'M HOPING the film makes an impact there and opens further doors for the industry."

One wonders how Aamir would react to the inside track while he enjoys his bike stunts in Chicago.

The Bhatts Big Fat Bollywood celebration

The Bhatts, Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt are becoming ready for what promises to be one of the crucial lavish celebrations ever seen within the Indian entertainment industry.

To celebrate 25 years of existence of the Bhatts' banner Vishesh Films, the Bhatts are planning a jamboree designed just like the opening of Mera Naam Joker where the entire individuals who made a difference to the protagonist's life were invited under the similar roof.

Laughs Mukesh Bhatt joyously, "Yes, Jeena yahan marna yahan indeed. On June 5, Vishesh Films completed 25 years. We're planning an excessively big celebration cum party where we wish all those who've ever been related to Vishesh Films to come back".

While Mukesh was reluctant to show more details, one came to understand from sources that the party would read like a who's who of the entertainment industry.

Says our source, "Everyone from Mr. Bachchan to Emraan Hashmi can be personally invited. The Bhatts have never believed in a show of strength. They've quietly gone and introduced one of the crucial biggest talent within the industry. But this time when it is the banner's silver jubilee, the Bhatts are within the mood for self-congratulation."

We hear there'll be a parade of talent on the party to be held within the last week of May. Says our source, "THE ENTIRE actors from Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal in Aashiqui to Esha Gupta within the forthcoming Jannat 2, and all of the directors from Vikram Bhatt in Fareb to Vishal Mahadkar in Blood Money could be called on stage."

Says Mukesh, "25 years and 58 films, not bad, huh? We wish to share the instant with all the industry and particularly with all of the actors, directors, technicians and music directors whom we've introduced."

Adds Mahesh Bhatt, "25 years and it is time to contemplate one's impact at the world. I'd this time make an exception and perform a little retrospection regardless of my personal motto: never look back. However the fact of the problem is, it's for others to make a good assessment of our journey."

Mukesh Bhatt proudly reveals that is the 84th year within the Hindi film industry for the Bhatt clan. My father Nanabhai Bhatt began directing films within the silent era in 1928. He went from the silent to the talkies era. Then I and my brother have produced an aggregate of nearly 70 films. Now in 2012, we're able to release our first 3D film Raaz 3 and mind you, it's not a pretend 3D film. We have not converted a 2D film into 3D. We shot the film within the 3D format. That is the 25th year of Vishesh Films. Grant us the luxurious of feeling proud. The Bhatts was around for 84 of the 100 years of Indian cinema's existence. No film family can claim this achievement."

Happily for the Bhatts, Mukesh's son Vishesh makes his directorial debut with Murder 3 this year.

Mukesh thinks Randeep and Sara Loren would expend the screen when the film releases."Their chemistry needs to be seen to be believed. I left the selection of heroine completely to my son Vishesh who makes his directorial debut in Murder 3. Fortunately, he has a mind of his own which he uses judiciously. The primary shock he gave me was after I read his script. It was unlike anything our banner or for that matter, anything tried by Hindi cinema before. The second one shock Vishesh gave me was when he announced he wanted Randeep and never Emraan for the male lead. Considering Emmy is our own inhouse hero it was really surprising. But then we have to get the banner out of a straitjacket. We want fresh talent that might steer Vishesh Films into new directions. No point in doing our trademark films time and again. When audiences see what my son has done in Murder 3, they are going to be shocked beyond belief."

Motwane desires to shoot in real snow for Lootera

Sonakshi Sinha's on-screen love story with Ranveer Singh in Lootera is now complete. Or almost complete. The affection story in accordance with an O'Henry short-story was shot entirely in artificial snow, because the real snows of Kashmir proved to be not friendly for shooting purposes at all.

But now, the film's team-- and that incorporates its reticent director Vikramaditya Motwane --has decided to shoot no less than a small component of the film in real snow. The initial plans of releasing the film by year-end have therefore been dropped, in order that one last attempt will also be made to catch a section of the film in real snow in Kashmir in December or January.

Says a source as regards to the project, "IT TRULY IS an issue of a fair omen. You can not make a movie about love within the snow without real snow. All the team thinks it might be inappropriate to make a movie a few love story in a snow-scape without real snow. So although the shooting is now complete and nobody can tell the film have been shot in artificial snow, way to the delicate snow-producing machine that was imported to do the needful, the film's shooting would still be stalled until no less than 10 minutes of the footage is shot in real snow."

Apparently, Sonakshi and Ranveer have given their nod to the idea, although Ranveer hurt his back very badly while seeking to shoot within the snow the last time.

Interestingly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali who shot his snow-fall scenes in Black in artificial snow after it was impossible to shoot in real snow in Simla, has advised his erstwhile assistant Vikramaditya Motwane to circumvent real snow. But Motwane isn't listening.

Arjun Rampal, who was speculated to play the role of Sher Khan, in Apoorva Lakhia's remake of Zanjeer has opted out of the project. The actor's dates for Zanjeer were clashing with that of Nikhil Advani's film and hence he was left without a choice but to opt out of Zanjeer.

At 49, I’m still in search of love: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Sanjay Leela Bhansali 200x200 Sanjay Leela Bhansali is 49, a bachelor, and says he truly believes within the concept of his sister Bela Sehgal’s directorial debut “Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi”, which deals with love between two 40-plus individuals.

“I love Bela’s concept of affection striking two people who find themselves seen as past the age of marriage. Love can strike at 45 or 85. I'M 49, and i'm still looking ahead to like to happen,” said Bhansali in an interview. He was rumoured to be tying the knot with choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant.

He also spread out concerning the agony of watching Sehgal’s directorial debut being delayed.

Following are excerpts from the interview:

Q: It has taken your sister Bela an excellent ten years to direct her first film. LOTS OF PEOPLE blame you for the delay…

A: Things happen once they are destined to happen. I’m aware that folks thought I USED TO BE the banyan tree which doesn’t allow every other tree to grow in its shade. The concept that individuals held me chargeable for my sister’s career not commencing killed me from inside.

You’d be surprised to grasp that she held my hand and introduced me to the wonders of cinema. She took me to the FTII (Film and tv Institute of India) and he or she introduced me to the film industry. I owe everything I'M today to her. Maybe I USED TO BE fortunate to have directed a movie before her. But rightfully she must have directed before me.

Q: You will have prodded her to direct her film long before?

A: From time to time I used to wonder whether she was taking goodbye to direct a movie because she spent such a lot time editing my films. But there has been nothing I MAY do. Bela was always a part of my creativity. She edited all my films until “Black” after which she decided it was time for her to direct her own film. She was always very clear that she desired to start as an editor after which direct a film.

She desired to direct a movie only once I made “Devdas”. Still, there has been a nagging feeling inside me that I'LL be slowing down her creative journey by holding directly to her within the capacity of an editor for my films. I ACTUALLY missed her editing in “Saawariya” and “Guzaarish”.

Q: I FEEL you and Bela had violent physical fights over the editing of your films?

A: Oh yes. I USED TO BE like a tiger protecting every inch of my footage. She was ruthless. She would tell me on my face that certain things needed to go. She ceased to be a sister and have become an editor. We’ve gone at one another like two cats, with our horrified assistants seeking to separate us from all sides. We were obnoxious within the editing room. But she made the best decisions. And you can now see that very same ruthless economy of expression in her own film.

Her film is solely 1 hour 45 minutes long, not a minute longer than it had to be. I miss her within the editing room. But if I saw what she had directed, I'M glad she has moved on.

Q: How do you are feeling when she is finally ready along with her film?

A: Bela’s film is infinitely superior to my first film “Khamoshi: The Musical”. I wish I had made “Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi”. We were planning “Shirin Farhad…” for eight years. Only I DO KNOW what agony I’ve suffered in these eight years. The delay wasn’t only because she is my sister. Some actors walked out of “Shirin Farhad…”. I’d rather not discuss these ugly things, because we finally succeeded in getting the very best cast (Boman Irani and Farah Khan).

Q: “Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi” recommends love past an age not socially permissible in our society. Do you think that love is feasible after 45?

A: Why not? I LIKE Bela’s concept of affection striking two people who find themselves seen as past the age of marriage. Love can strike at 45 or 85. I'M 49, and i'm still looking ahead to like to happen. – IANS

Salman Khan changes the principles for Bigg Boss 6

Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Bigg Boss have decided to eliminate controversial people and to incorporate the typical man of their show. A source on the subject of the show said, “‘Bigg Boss’ has to this point catered to the voyeuristic needs of Indian viewers. But there’s not so good for those within the film and television industry who thrive on controversies.

A very long time ago, these people were the principle competitors within the show. But now, only those players who’ve a family friendly image could be selected.” The modification within the format have been suggested to make it user friendly for general viewings. So the Bigg Boss of the show will allow common people to share the screen with Salman.

Moreover it’s regarded as a picture makeover for Salman Khan, whom is normally marked because the controversy king. His complaints in black buck poaching and hit-and-run cases are still unfinished. So after the large success of his recent films, it's being felt that his character must be more enduring to the people.

Shahids role in Bejoys film inspired by Jack Nicholson

Anything for a pal. That's Shahid Kapoor for you. And his friends too believe in standing by the actor, rock-steady. At a time when after the debacle of Teri Meri Kahaani, the super-talented Shahid is seeking new challenges, his ally and shut confidante Mubina Rattonsey has decided to supply Shahid's next film. Mubina, it should be remembered, had co-produced Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey which was a turning point in Shahid's career.

The same may be true of Kapoor-Rattonsey team's next collaboration.

Bejoy Nambiar, the director of the highly-acclaimed Shaitaan is ready to explore the dark side of human nature in all places again, this time with Shahid Kapoor as his main protagonist.

Though the concerned parties are keeping mum over the character of the project, the yet-untitled film which starts shooting this December, features Shahid as a con-man who winds up in a mental asylum.

Says a source, "Shahid's role has distinct elements of Jack Nicholson's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, though it is not a remake of that Oscar-winning classic. But it is a role that showcases Shahid's talent to be the easiest entertainer. He sings, dances, clowns around and likewise gets deadly serious. Let's just say, it's Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest combined with Rajesh Khanna in B R Chopra's Ittefaq."

At 82, Lata Mangeshkar remains the undisputed queen of all she sur-weighs. And now comes the inside track that she is ready to record the indomitable lines of numerous Hindi poets, including Harivanshrai Bachchan in her invincible voice.

Apparently, the speculation came to the Nightingale after surveying the present musical scene. Says a source with regards to Mangeshkar, "Didi's voice is in amazing form at the moment. She sounds in peak form. She has seldom felt more enthused in recent times. She desires to do something special. Film lyrics and compositions don't inspire her any more, so she decided to sift throughout the works of eminent Hindi poets to sing their lines. Some of the poets she has zeroed in on are Mathailisharan Gupt and Harivanshrai Bachchan. Many more unsung poets would figure in her album which might be without equal homage to Hindi poets."

Shedding light on her ambitious project, Lataji says, "I HAVE BEEN toying with this concept for a few years now. I THINK we've celebrated Urdu poetry extensively in song form. Even in films where I've sung exquisite Urdu lines by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Gulzar, Javed Akhtar and plenty of more. But I BELIEVE there is a lacuna when involves Hindi poets in song form. I NEED to sing Hindi lines by poets who wrote great poetry but in a standard man's language. Mathilisharan Gupta and Harivanshrai Bachchan are on my list."

The list of Hindi poets who would feature in her historic album continues to be be drawn. The factors for selection is eminence, accessibility and purity of language.

Lataji has roughly made up her mind to persuade clear of film songs. She says cautiously, "I WILL NOT sing 'Sheila Ki Jawaani'. The film songs today don't inspire me to any extent further. I FEEL it is time I did the entire singing that I'VE always wanted to, but never had the time to. My project on Hindi poets gives me an opportunity to handle a side of my singing that I've wanted to for a very long time".

Recently, Lataji sang a song in Nepali. She holds the enviable record of getting sung in nearly every Indian language.

Says Lataji, "I've sung in the entire Indian languages except Haryanvi. Now there's just one unfulfilled dream. If I'LL return to my riyaaz and rediscover my classical roots, my father can be more than happy wherever he is."

Resul Pookutty cries foul over Aamirs Satyamev Jayate

Even though Aamir Khan's 'Satyamev Jayate' (SMJ) has gone off air now, it still continues to make news. This time, not for the appropriate reason though. On the 'firing end' this time, is none rather than the Oscar-winning sound specialist Resul Pookutty, who has hit out on the show for being "doctored."

He also added that the show was treated identical to a movie with regards to how sound (mixing) is handled in a film, in order that it is easy to form of emotionally blackmail audiences. He said that SMJ was treated within the same fashion.

Resul, who last made news with Slumdog Millionaire, is back again as part of Tim Sebastian's much-awaited debate series 'The Outsider', that is rumored to be at the lines of SMJ. Court orders injunction on televised release of Jannat 2

Even though, the screen writer Kapil Chopra, who filed a case against Bhatts alleging plagiarism, hasn't got credit or payment as a writer of Jannat 2, he hasn't lost the battle entirely. The High Court has granted an interim injunction at the satellite release of the film till the further order. This implies Bhatts can't release the film regardless of depositing Rs. 10 lakhs that court demanded earlier.

A source on the subject of Kapil reveals, "On 27th July, the Film Writers Association had submitted an in depth report back to the court whereby it has said there are striking similarities between Kapil's script and Jannat 2. They've found there was not just the infringement of the copyright but breach of confidence too. They stated the emails exchanged between Kunal Deshmukh and Kapil and agreed that it's indeed a replica. Subsequently, the court passed the order of injunction at the televised release of the film till the further decision is taken within the matter."

The software engineer turned writer who had filed the case against Bhatts in May may be very disappointed with the best way writers are treated within the film industry. He laments, "Everyone says content is the king but writer remains to be a poor man and is brief changed with most of these activities. I'VE seen a trend of copying scenes from the released films and even replicating all of the film in our industry but it surely really hurts whilst you remove someone's unreleased work that's labor of a few years and never even give credit or money."

The young writer informs, "Apparently, I'VE heard the film has earned nearly Rs. 40 crores and there were success parties at five star hotels, the person who created the characters and conceived the tale hasn't seen a single penny. At the other hand, the Bhatts try to sabotage my career by calling me delusional in media. I'VE claimed Rs.10 lakhs as a fee and i've not received the money yet. They try to confuse the problem by bringing in censor board issue."

The lawyer Rashmin Khandekar who's representing Kapil's case refused to comment. However, the young writer who strongly believes within the judiciary system of the rustic adds hopefully, "My entire family and clan of writers will remain eternally indebted to the Judiciary system of this country. We're glad that they've heard us out and proceedings will happen. I DO KNOW that justice will prevail."

Models bypass pageants for straight road to Bollywood

deepika padukone hot 200x287 Have beauty pageants become passe? With only one international win in 12 years, India’s dry run continues with insiders saying that models and other aspirants to the glitz and glamour world are bypassing the pageant path to head straight for Bollywood.

It was the opposite direction around within the decades gone past with women like Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta winning their international crowns after which going to the movie world.

On Saturday, Miss India World Vanya Mishra made it to the highest seven on the 62nd edition of the Miss World contest in Ordos, China, however the crown went to China’s Xia Yu. Had she clinched it, she would have gotten the primary big win in 12 years.

The last Miss Universe title came home in 2000 with Lara Dutta winning the crown; the last Miss World also came the similar year with Priyanka Chopra bagging the title.

So why this drought, even if the money and perks remain just about the same?

According to model Shamita Singha, who represented India in the course of the Miss Earth 2001 pageant, the issue starts on the root level.

“The girls participating in such pageants don’t match expectations. We can’t blame the judges panel. We aren't getting good entries. Most ladies need to make a career in Bollywood and with such a lot of modelling agencies these days, it's easier for them. So that they avoid taking the longer beauty pageant route,” Singha told IANS.

Amongst the models who've taken the direct road to Bollywood are Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, who catapulted to special time stardom, in addition to those like Sayali Bhagat, Geeta Basra, Mugdha Godse and Jiah Khan.

India first made its mark within the international beauty pageant scenario long ago in 1966 with Reita Faria winning the Miss World title. In 1994, Aishwarya brought back the crown, while Sushmita became the primary Indian to be crowned Miss Universe the similar year.

Describing Bollywood as a big roadblock, Shonal Rawat, Femina Miss India Asia Pacific 2003, said: “Bollywood may well be the rationale that ladies aren't thinking about coming into such pageants. I FEEL the young generation simply gets attracted by short-term fame they receive during their initial days and this somehow stops them from different career options.”

She also feels that ladies lack the proper attitude.

“Miss India requires the culmination of various such things as poise, confidence, looks and intelligence. It's concerning the whole packaging had to win the crown.”

Neha Dhupia, now an actress, started as a model, won the Femina Miss India 2002 crown after which made inroads into showbiz.

In her opinion, the luck factor is equally important.

“I don’t think anyone is lacking at any level. It's concerning the one that shines that day. Everyone’s beautiful as you might be competing with the 80 most pretty women on the planet. No person is lacking anywhere. The explanation why everyone’s there may be that they're winners in themselves,” she said.

Over the years, the fashion for beauty pageants and viewer interest has also dipped.

“Earlier, people was fascinated with watching Miss India contests on TV or in person. But that may be dying. We have to get public interest back. This may help us in winning,” said Shweta Vijay, Femina Miss India Earth 2003.

Till 2009, the Femina Miss India title winner used to take part within the Miss Universe pageant. From 2010 onwards, Sushmita’s organisation I'M She chooses the country’s official entry for Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific.

Sushmita’s candidate Himangini Singh Yadu won the Miss Asia Pacific 2012. She was the primary Indian to win the crown in 12 years – the last time was the victory of Dia Mirza, who's now a known Bollyood actress and movie producer. – IANS
