Ek Tha Tiger could have day and date release in Overseas

With EK THA TIGER releasing in India on Wednesday, 15 August, there may be tremendous speculation about its release within the international markets. Will EK THA TIGER have an afternoon and date release outside India? Or will it open an afternoon or two later, dependent on the marketplace for? those unacquainted, most Hindi films release on Thursdays in key markets similar to Australia, New Zealand and U.A.E. and on Fridays in U.K. and U.S.A. Very rarely do Hindi films open on Wednesdays outside India, unless it happens to be Christmas or the Independence Day weekend within the U.S.

However, Yash Raj has decided to release the film globally on Wednesday. In fact, that they had instructed their international partner-distributors a few Wednesday release, much upfront. Confirms Avtar Panesar, Vice President, International Operations, Yash Raj, "WE'RE taking a look at a simultaneous release in all major markets [on Wednesday], while markets like Turkey and Japan can be explored within the second phase."

Although it is a bit too early to speak about the screen count internationally [it gets decided within the week of release], what will also be revealed is that as many as 400 + prints of EK THA TIGER could be in circulation within the first phase of distribution [the screen count might be much, much higher]. In fact, EK THA TIGER could have one of the most widest releases within the international arena.
