Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi finds himself in a place of bother after PVR Pictures filed a criminal case against him in the case of a bounced cheque.

The story dates back to just about 4 years ago when Santoshi was to make a movie for PVR and was even paid an advance of Rs. 1.11 crore. However, when the director did not get a hold of a script and other key elements throughout the stipulated time, he was asked to go back the signing amount by PVR. Santoshi issued a cheque of Rs. 50 lakhs to PVR but as luck would have it the cheque bounced.

Despite repeated follow-ups, Santoshi refuses to co-operate and PVR had no choice but to file a criminal case against him. The filmmaker has to now appear in court on September 7.
