Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar is slated to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy award for upcoming male talent, on May 3. Ali who made his Bollywood debut in 2010 with Tere Bin Laden, which turned out to be a surprise hit on the box office followed it up with YRF's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan alongside Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan and London Paris New York. Ali's performance in all three films was highly appreciated by the critics in addition to the audience.
Ali has specially come right down to Mumbai to gather the award. He tweeted, "At lack of words for the respect I'VE BEEN considered worthy of. Just landed Mumbai from Dubai to receive the award."
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award in cinema given annually by the federal government of India for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema and is held annually on Dada Saheb Phalke Jayanti.
