We havent made a comedy on sperm donation please - Shoojit Sircar

The issue of sperm donation is serious and John Abraham's recent foot-in-the-mouth statement comparing the problem as depicted within the film Vicky Donor to the treatment of homosexuality in Dostana has certainly made the director squirm.

Protests Shoojit, "I BELIEVE John was looking to draw attention to the truth that we've made an entertaining film on a taboo subject. We've not made a comedy on sperm donation, please! If truth be told we have now a big sperm bank Cryos International on board to reply to all queries on sperm donation on our behalf. It's an idea that also revolts and embarrasses a majority of Indians. We're very shy of discussing artificial technique of fertilization. Couples suffer years of childless existence in place of face the embarrassment of resorting to scientific and legal methods of external fertilization."

Trying hard to minimize John's faux pas, Sircar says, "The endeavour is to bring the problem out of the closet in a gentle tone in order that it's acceptable to each part of the audience. We had a sperm-donation specialist Dr. Malpani from Mumbai on board to steer us in the course of the technicalities."

The film's hero VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurana and its co-producer John Abraham can be actively indulging in sperm donation to turn that the film Vicky Donor isn't just a time-pass diversion for them.
