Even though the makers of Jannat 2 have categorically stated that this can be a solo hero film with Emraan Hashmi leading from the front, looks as if those with reference to Randeep Hooda haven't taken the statement too kindly. After all, Randeep - who's fresh out of playing a key protagonist in his last release Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster - would have definitely bargained for a greater placement in Jannat 2. However statements that convey that 'it was a conscious decision to not do something about Randeep for Jannat 2 promotion' are heartbreaking to mention the least.
"Sometimes what's printed doesn't quite convey the precise expression with that you had made a specific statement", says a source with regards to Kunal, "He had always maintained that Jannat 2 isn't a two hero film. Actually Randeep too was aware of this from the very beginning. For this reason why Kunal had also admitted that Randeep was not within the know-how of the promotional strategy because on the end of the day it's Emraan's film. This does not imply though that other actors do not need a job to play. Randeep knows his place within the film; he hasn't been cheated here and there's no reason behind him to feel let down."
Still, since there may be lot of misinterpretation in play here and the obvious miscommunication hasn't gone down well with all involved, there's an instant damage control in play. Step one on this direction is for Kunal to hail Randeep's presence within the film.
"Randeep is a brilliant actor. Period. When he becomes part of a film, he obviously adds weight to the proceedings. The most efficient part about Randeep is that he was consistent in all his films," remarks Kunal. Obviously the tone sounds a lot more euphoric and awe inspiring this time around.
Continuing his appreciation for Randeep and additional re-establishing his importance to Jannat 2, Kunal says, "IT'S ONLY that he have been doing a large number of offbeat films because of which he wasn't seen as much by the audience prior to now as he deserves. Now Jannat 2 would give him a platform where he can showcase his talent to lot of individuals. The selection of individuals who would see the film could be five times or more of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. However that may be 'yet' to happen. Once that happens, he would naturally command his place for being a lot more prominently placed within the promotional campaign of his future films."
