The year 2012 is a unique year for the Indian film industry because it marks the completion of 100 years of Indian cinema. To mark this big day on May 3, a different wax statue of the daddy of Indian cinema Dadasaheb Phalke is to be unveiled on the Celebrity Wax Museum in Lonavala.

Dadasaheb Phalke was a number of the pioneers of the Indian film industry who made his debut with India's first full-length silent movie Raja Harishchandra in 1913. In a career spanning almost 25 years, Phalke made as many as 95 films.

Acknowledging his immense contribution to the expansion and development of the Indian film industry, the federal government instituted the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1969.

The wax statue appears to be a great tribute to 1 of the best visionaries in Indian cinema- Dadasaheb Phalke.
