Suniel Shetty has always been referred to as an actor who's hooked in to sports. The actor has now been appointed because the brand ambassador of worldwide Series Hockey, a joint initiative between the Indian Hockey Federation and Nimbus sports channel.
World Series Hockey aims to resurrect the recognition of India's national sport- Hockey. The development will include 8 teams namely Bhopal Baadshahs, Chandigarh Comets, Chennai Cheetahs, Karnataka Lions, Delhi Wizards, Mumbai Marines, Pune Strykers and Sher-e-Punjab who will battle it out for the overall trophy ranging from Feb 29.
Similar to the hugely successful IPL, World Series Hockey too will feature hockey players from internationally. Besides being a brand ambassador of the event, Suniel also owns a stake within the Karnataka Lions team. The actor hopes that through this initiative he's in a position to create more awareness about India's national sport within the days to come.
