The 'Guru Shishya' jodi of Naseeruddin Shah and Randeep Hooda will reunite after a protracted gap of 11 years for a movie titled John Day. The primary film that saw them together was Randeep's debut film Monsoon Wedding where he got a chance to share screen space with Naseer saab.
From there on, Randeep, who's an ardent fan of Naseer saab's work, got along well with him and so they was doing a large number of theatre interact. Now John Day gives them a chance to share screen space all over again.
Directed by Ahishor Solomon and produced by Anjum Rizvi (who earlier produced A Wednesday) along side K. Asif, John Day may be ana fringe of the seat revenge drama.
Randeep, who considers Naseer saab as his Guru, friend and a confidant is very glad to have finally got a script for you to do justice to both his character and that of Naseer saab's.
Speaking concerning the film, producer Anjum Rizvi says, "Solomon came to me with this great script and he had Naseer saab and Randeep in mind for the 2 lead characters. We approached them and both readily agreed after taking note of the script. We're happy to have either one of them together in John Day where both have very interesting roles."
Randeep Hooda too shared his excitement, "I'M very lucky that my first ever scene in cinema was with Naseer saab. I USED TO BE always a large fan of his but after Monsoon Wedding he also became an even friend and confidant. I'VE learnt so much from him and i'm glad that once doing theatre for thus a few years with him, I'M finally getting such a captivating film to share screen space with him."
