Emraan Hashmi turns director for Ek Thi Daayan

It looks as if Emraan Hashmi, is ready to prove wrong the saying 'Uneasy lies the pinnacle that wears many hats', in his own way. Well, after having secured his place under the sun as an actor, he's now prepared so as to add one more feather in his cap. This time round, by turning a director!

The film in question is the much mentioned Ek Thi Daayan, that's being directed by Kanan Iyer. Emraan took his 'debut shot' as a director while shooting Kanan's cameo for the film. Ironically, Ek Thi Daayan will mark Kanan's debut as a director in addition to an actor. Kanan said that since he decided to do a small role within the film only for fun, he wanted another person to direct him. And because Emraan was around, he immediately stepped up and was game to do the needful. Although the 2 shot for over an hour, the overall scene will ultimately be lower than a minute within the film! Kanan, who plays a scientist giving a lecture to university students, said that he's conscious about the truth that he's not an actor and that is the reason why he needed an interloper to inform him if his shot worked or needed more work. And it's where Emraan stepped in and guided him in the course of the scene and made sure that he gave the look of a scientist. The duo, later worked at the look, dialogues and reactions.

Kanan, who was all praise for his leading man Emraan Hashmi, said that Emraan is an involved actor, who gets into the surface of the nature and constantly talks about his interpretation of ways a personality behaves in a definite scene. And when asked about Emraan's future as a director, Kanan said that he's an extraordinary, intelligent actor who can be a fair director someday.
