Cross border relations have always been a strain within the Indian subcontinent. However, cricket and flicks have always been successful in cutting in the course of the red tape. The most recent is Dibakar Banerjee's film Shanghai. If truth be told the film was screened in Baghdad, just outside the fairway Zone on July 15.
However, the screening did have its share of hic-cups with two power failures. But this didn't deter the audience with Safia Taleb Al Suhail, member of the Iraqi Parliament and His Excellency Suresh Reddy, felicitating the show, even a couple of soldiers sneaked in for the show.
This screening made Shanghai the primary Indian film to be screened within the last TWO DECADES in Iraq.
