Tannishtha Chatterjee at the Cannes-troversy

Actress Tannishtha Chatterjee is basically in agreement with Sheetal Talwar who has gone on record to mention Bollywood representation in Cannes is farcical.

Says the actress, "I FEEL what Sheetal says is to a point true. However, it's not entirely true. This year Miss Lovely was within the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. Or even The Gangs Of Wasseypur is within the Directors' Fortnight. Nevertheless I'd say we've not had another Satyajit Ray creating a global impact for therefore a few years. We make 800 films a year but we're nowhere globally. Iran produces 25 films per year and their films get noticed everywhere."

Tannishtha feels Indian films do not get noticed. "That's because we endorse the incorrect films, filmmakers and actors in India. Personally, if I USED TO BE not recognized in Shadows Of Time and Brick Lane within the West, nobody would notice me at home."
