It’s not risky to work with new directors: Akshay Kumar

He takes pride in saying that he gave a few of his biggest hits with new directors or even today Bollywood star Akshay Kumar feels there's not much risk taken with working with debutants.

“I have given a few of my best films with new directors – Abbas-Mustan in ‘Khiladi’, Guddu Dhanoa in ‘Elaan’ and Naresh Malhotra in ‘Yeh Dillagi’… – there's a long list of newcomers I'VE worked with. In recent times, I'VE worked with Sajid Khan in ‘Housefull’,” Akshay told IANS.

The 44-year-old also worked with Sabir Khan in his directorial “Kambakhat Isqh”, however it didn’t work.

So is there any risk factor serious about working with fresh talents?

“It isn't in any respect risky to work with newcomers… they've the greed, they would like to do something, they would like to prove themselves. I LOVE working with newcomers because they've new ideas. With due respect to all other directors, who also make good films, I enjoy working with newcomers a lot,” he said.

In fact, one film old director Neeraj Pandey is directing him within the upcoming movie “Special Chabbis”.

“The whole idea is to do different films with different directors. My responsibility in ‘Special Chabbis’ as an actor is to follow my director thoroughly without giving any inputs,” he said.

“‘Special Chabbis’, ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again’ and ‘OMG’ are the flicks I'LL BE proud to be associated with,” he added.

The actor says he not just works with first time directors but in addition enjoys hiring fresh talents for his production houses – Hari Om Productions and Grazing Goat.

“I am creating a film under my another banner, Grazing Goat, with director Umesh. He has directed plays with Paresh Rawal and that i liked certainly one of his plays. I'VE taken the rights of the play and i'm making it now. Paresh is there within the film and its called ‘OMG’. I'M HOPING it's going to get released by September this year. No, I'M REALLY NOT acting in it,” he said.

Asked in regards to the content of “Special Chabbis” and “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again” and he says that he's bound by the contract and can’t divulge any details.

“I can only tell that ‘Once upon A Time…’ is a continuation of part one. So far as underworld goes, I DO KNOW up to is outlined in paper in regards to the underworld. I understand what's happening around us, which city is facing what problem,” he said. – IANS

Tusshar’s new avatar: Aggressive-funny gangster

After playing a negative role in “The Dirty Picture”, Tusshar Kapoor is ready to be a foul boy again in “Shootout at Wadala”. He plays gangster Sheikh Munir, probably the most trusted men of Manya Surve, played by John Abraham, and says his character is aggressive yet funny.

“My character is humorous. He's aggressive but has a mild hearted approach towards everything in life. That is my first Muslim character. I'M working with Sanjay Gupta for the primary time and the movie is an absolutely new experience for me,” Tusshar told reporters at an event here.

Directed by Gupta, “Shootout at Wadala” depicts the killing of mobster Manya Surve by the Mumbai police.

“The shooting of the film remains to be occurring. We're seeking to portray whatever happened within the encounter in an excessively realistic way. This has made it rather intense or even I got hurt a couple of days ago. I enjoyed shooting for ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’ in addition and those really appreciated the movie. In “Shootout At Lokhandwala” which was produced by Gupta and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Tusshar was cast as gangster Dilip Bua.

Giving a sneak peek into his character in “Shootout At Wadala”, Tusshar mouthed his favourite dialogue from the movie, “Woh maut jo dost ki umar badha de, woh maut sar aankhon par”.

Like the remainder of the star cast of the thriller, Tusshar also focuses so much on his fitness. “I am obsessive about keeping fit. I THINK in weight training and fully cope with it. I LOVE my father and how he has maintained himself,” he said. – IANS

For Rana and Bipasha is simply a pal

The rumour that actor Rana Daggubati and actress Bipasha Basu are dating have been making the rounds ever because the both paired up for Dum Maaro Dum, but Rana puts an end to it saying they’re only friends. “Bipasha Basu is nothing higher than a buddy. She’s an excellent friend in Mumbai.

And that’s a great deal it,” said Rana, whose 2nd Hindi movie is Department after Dum Maaro Dum. Bipasha’s love life were under rumours ever since her 10-year-long love story at the side of John Abraham came to an end. Rana says he’s stopped bothering about press reports about his association status.

Presently Rana is gearing up for the launch of Department, which also actors Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the flick is popping out on May 18.

Priyanka Chopra not delaying Barfi says Anurag Basu

Anurag Basu’s much awaited movie Barfi starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanak Chopra have been in reports for one or the opposite reason. As per the reports, the movie have been postponed again and again as a result of Priyanka Chopra or Ranbir Kapoor. The film’s launch have been delayed not once but thrice. Currently the reports was taking rounds that Basu needs 2 more dates of Priyanka to finish the movie which Priyanka is unable to give.

Priyanka has currently began filming for her next movie Zanjeer remake and may be hectic promoting Teri Meri Kahaani. Coming to the save of his actors, Anurag Basu has purely refused all such speculation and has validated that Priyanka has finished her shoot and the two days that he needs from Priyanka is for the patch work. The movie was earlier planned to be launched on July 13th but Anurag has also established that no launch date has yet been completed from the UTV the film producers of Barfii.

Anurag Basu was earlier quoted indicating that the timetable of the movie went haywire and thus the entire actors needed to reschedule their times.

I don’t have friends in personal life also – Ram Gopal Varma

Director-producer Ram Gopal Varma, known for bold comments on Twitter, expresses himself candidly at the social networking website and feels negativity has more creativity.

“Whenever you tweet, it's the way of expression. Whatever I NEED to say, I say through tweet. Whatever I WOULD LIKE to mention I don’t mind sharing with whoever desires to listen,” Varma told to reporters.

“On Twitter, they follow you and in the event that they don’t need to take heed to you, they're going to unfollow you. So, it's their choice, not my choice. I don’t have problem with anybody reading my tweet. I'VE nothing to hide…sometimes I MAY be offensive. Generally humans are negative. There may be nothing more creative than being bitchy,” he added.

He claims he doesn’t have any friends within the industry.

“Nobody is with regards to me. In fact, I don’t have any friends in any respect. I don’t have friends in personal life also. I don’t see a necessity for friends. I'M my very own friend.” – IANS

‘Delhi Belly’ now in Tamil, shooting starts May 7

Hit adult comedy “Delhi Belly” will now be remade in Tamil and director by R. Kannan will start shooting for the film May 7 with Arya in general lead.

The yet to be titled Tamil version might be produced by UTV Movies and and it'll be completed by October. It's slated for a Pongal release in January 2013.

The original was co-produced by UTV Films and Aamir Khan Productions and was directed by Abhinay Deo in English. It was also dubbed in Hindi.

Arya, who featured in “Vettai”, will play Imran Khan’s role within the Tamil Version. Popular Tamil comedian cinema Santhanam will play Kunaal Roy Kapur’s role and actor Premgi will step into Vir Das’ shoes.

“We have triggered actors who're youthful and popular, along side an overly skilled director on the helm. We're confident that the good content of ‘Delhi Belly’ will act as a bridge for cinema loving audiences across languages,” said Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, in an announcement.

Hansika Motwani and Anjali will play an airhostess and journalist respectively. Actor Nasser, known for villainious roles in southern movies, have been roped in to play Vijay Raaz’s role.

“Our next Hindi release ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is a remake of the super-hit Telugu film ‘Vikramarkudu’. Some content transcends culture and language and draws audiences in for the sheer quality of story telling,” said Kapur.

“In the similar vein, we believe ‘Delhi Belly’ will work superbly well with the Tamil audiences and we're thrilled with the exceptionally adapted screenplay that a team of young writers has developed,” he added.

John Mahendran of “Sachien” fame will pen dialogues. Youth icon Thaman will compose music and P.G. Muthiah of “Poo” fame would be the cinematographer for the film.

Leo was signed because the editor and Videsh will do art direction.

Deepali will design costumes and stunts can be directed by Silva. – IANS

Emraan races past his competitors

The rumour that Rana Daggubati and Bipasha Basu are dating have been making the rounds ever for the reason that two paired up for “Dum Maaro Dum”, however the southern actor puts an end to it saying they're just friends.

“Bipasha Basu is nothing greater than a chum. She is an excellent friend in Mumbai. And that’s just about it,” Rana, whose second Hindi film is “Department” after “Dum Maaro Dum”, told IANS.

Bipasha’s love life were under speculation ever since her 10-year-long love saga with John Abraham came to an end.

Rana says he has stopped bothering about media reports on his relationship status.

“I used to wonder earlier, but later I ENDED bothering about these media reports. What number of times will one deny these reports? Better ignore them.”

Currently Rana is gearing up for the discharge of “Department”, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film is popping out on May 18. – IANS

Rajesh Khanna delighted about first TV ad

The actor could be seen within the new Havell’s fan ad campaign called Havells Fans Forever. The TVC, directed by R. Balki, shows the long-lasting superstar talking about his fans and giving the viewers a way that he still enjoys an enormous fan following.

“To be approached after such a lot of years is indeed an excellent honour for me and i'm delighted to reconnect with my fans again. Shooting after an opening of such a lot of years has definitely brought back fond memories and that i feel that not so much has changed in any respect. It’s good to be back,” Rajesh Khanna said in a statement.

In the ad, he goes down memory lane, remembering how his fans used to follow him everywhere when he was a superstar.

Balki, also the chairman and chief creative officer of Lowe Lintas, said Rajesh Khanna was an apt choice as he still commands numerous respect.
