Abhay Deol to star in Vibhu Puris Bambai Fairy Tale

The buzz is that Abhay Deol is prepared to star in debutant director Vibhu Puri's Bambai Fairy Tale. This is a period love story set within the city of dreams, Mumbai. Apparently, Abhay won't only star within the film but additionally produce it.

It's been some time since we last saw Abhay in an out and out romantic film. Defying his chocolate hero looks, the actor was quite choosy about doing a love story. Even supposing he debuted in Imtiaz Ali's Socha Na Tha which was a romantic film, he has rarely been seen in a single after, barring Anurag Kashyap's Dev D and the forgettable Aisha. His last film Shanghai was a political thriller. So will probably be a pleasant change to peer him in a romantic avatar again.

A source with reference to Abhay reveals, "After Shanghai, Abhay was trying to do something entirely different. He likes to experiment along with his image. When he heard the narration of Vibhu's story, he loved the speculation. After a couple of meetings, the actor green lighted the project. He's also thinking about producing the film however the talks are still on."

Reportedly, Vibhu, the author of Saawariya, was presupposed to make his directorial debut with Chenab Gandhi. Unfortunately, the film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rajeev Khandelwal and Vidya Balan film got shelved because of the fallout together with his producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Interestingly, Bhansali's next, Ram Leela, could also be a period love story set in Gujarat.
