Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma will Friday show his 15-minute film at the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks to people closely associated with the incident, including policemen and survivors.
“I did this film after extensive research and after in-depth interviews with not just the policemen but additionally survivors and others directly and indirectly connected to the incidents,” said Varma.
“The terrorist attacks of 26/11 were one of the horrific happenings in post-independence India and the intention of the film is to truthfully portray the emotional aspects of these tragic moments.
So it has nothing to do with the launch date (Nov 23) being near or far to the (incident’s) anniversary date (Nov 26) however it is to do with the actual intent of creating this film,” he said.
In the film, Varma has shown the precise sequence of events of that night.
“Many folks know of the attacks which happened that night but only a few folks have a data of ways they happened and that's exactly what we felt need to be known to everyone on this planet and hence we decided to make this film both for the Indian and international audiences.”
The film’s cast mostly has new actors, he said. – IANS
