Mira Nair to do stage adaptation of Monsoon Wedding

After having reached dizzying heights in Bollywood, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is now prepared to start along with his first English composition, which happens to be a whopping 11 songs for the musical stage adaptation of Mira Nair's film Monsoon Wedding. He's said to have kept all other assignments on hold next month for this Broadway-styled musical, that allows you to see him working with lyricist Jaideep Sahni and Nair in December.

News is that since Mira got busy with The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Vishal with Saat Khoon Maaf and Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, the theory of converting Monsoon Wedding right into a Bollywood musical got delayed. Talking concerning the musical, Mira said that she is going to be engaged on finishing the songs of Monsoon Wedding until mid-December. If the excitement is to be believed, then the shocker is available in the shape of the scoop that Mira desires to cast fresh faces within the musical and that not one of the film cast might be repeated. And the factors for the stage act could be that the said actors need to be fabulous dancers since they are going to be singing and dancing non-stop on stage for 2 hours.

Meanwhile, Bhardwaj said that the stage adaptation of Monsoon Wedding could be like a Broadway musical version. He added that for the primary time, he's going to be composing the songs in English, in order to be sung live by the actors on stage.
