I don’t believe in promotions but I CAN need to do it since I'M also the producer of the film, then I WILL BE ABLE TO need to do it. Mouth publicity is the most productive publicity but now it’s the need we can must do it,” Paresh Rawal told reporters, before the music launch of the film “Oh My God”.
The music launch of the film was launched at the sets of Indian Idol post the click conference.
Paresh Rawal, who has shared the screen space with Akshay Kumar in lots of films including “Hera Pheri”, “Bhagam Bhag”, “De Dana Dan” among others, is not going to just share the screen space in “Oh My God” but can even co-produce the film.
Paresh says their journey was peaceful.
“As a producer when two different people meet in a platform they need to trust one another and prefer one another as a individual. Relating to production, although you're working for fifty years, still you learn something new day by day. Overall our journey was very peaceful and meaningful,” the actor said.
Adapted from the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Gujarati play, “Kanji Virrudh Kanji”, by Paresh Rawal, it tells the tale of an atheist who incurs huge loses, when his antique shop is destroyed by an earthquake. The play in Hindi was titled “Krishan vs Kanhaiya”.
Paresh said: “When I saw the play, I USED TO BE very jealous that I USED TO BE not a part of that Gujarati play. Then we did the similar play in Hindi. That point we decided to make a Hindi film on this.”
“When it involves film, you'll have to be aware of the visual part. So that you should make it powerful visually. There's a lot of difference between the play and the film you might be conversant in the topic but surprised by the brand new interpretation and new scenes. Many stuff that shall we not show within the play we've shown it within the movie,” he added.
Directed by Umesh Shukla, “Oh My God” is co-produced by Ashvini Yardi, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. The film is slated for September 28 release. – IANS
