Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna, who recently had a health scare, is back in action together with his first television ad and says he's “delighted to reconnect with fans once again”.
The actor could be seen within the new Havell’s fan ad campaign called Havells Fans Forever. The TVC, directed by R. Balki, shows the long-lasting superstar talking about his fans and giving the viewers a way that he still enjoys an enormous fan following.
“To be approached after such a lot of years is indeed an excellent honour for me and i'm delighted to reconnect with my fans again. Shooting after an opening of such a lot of years has definitely brought back fond memories and that i feel that not so much has changed in any respect. It’s good to be back,” Rajesh Khanna said in a statement.
In the ad, he goes down memory lane, remembering how his fans used to follow him everywhere when he was a superstar.
Balki, also the chairman and chief creative officer of Lowe Lintas, said Rajesh Khanna was an apt choice as he still commands numerous respect.
“This new campaign gave us an excellent chance to capture the essence of the emblem with sheer simplicity. When the ad was being conceived, shall we recall to mind none rather then Rajesh Khanna himself who still commands quite a lot of respect and maximum fan following! Keep in mind that that it was an enormous achievement to direct Mr. Khanna in his first ever commercial,” said Balki.
Anil Gupta, joint managing director (JMD), Havells (India), says that the most efficient part about Rajesh Khanna is that “even after 30 or 40 odd years, people of not just our generation but of the more youthful generation as well, remember him as probably the most biggest stars of his time. He's going to be revered for ever identical to our Havells Fans!” – IANS
