Back in 2010, Mallika Sherawat was seen raving about her then to be released "Hollywood" flick Hisss, not only in India but additionally at Cannes film festival. The film which was originally set to be directed by Jennifer Lynch took a turn for the more serious during its making with Lynch being ousted by none rather than Mallika's brother Vikram Singh, who was also the film's producer.
However now, greater than a year later, Lynch who's visibly still fuming with the farce that Hisss created, might be lashing out at Mallika, her brother Vikram Singh and Govind Menon, through a documentary film titled Despite The Gods.
Directed by Penny Vozniak, Despite The Gods, is a documentary that showcases the behind the curtain of what went wrong with Lynch and her Indian tryst while shooting Hisss and can open in Toronto this year. The documentary explains the adventure of ways Lynch traveled to India to direct Hisss, and finally needed to face the insurmountable pressure of the ever changing filmmaking ideals.
Directed by Penny Vozniak and produced by Karina Astrup, Despite the Gods tells the untold tale of Jennifer Lynch's Bollywood odyssey.
