The makers of Talaash have had enough. Ever since they declared the discharge of the Aamir Khan starrer from June to November this year, there were rumours floating across the 'real reason' behind that. Even if producers Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani have categorically stated that postponement of the film is to circumvent clash with Aamir Khan's TV show, rumour mongers have had a field day attributing the delay to alleged similarities with Vidya Balan's Kahaani. However there is not any truth to the story, as confirmed by the 'woman-of-the-moment', Reema Kagti, herself.
"Reema, who has co-written the film with Zoya Akhtar and has directed Talaash, is amused that outsiders appear to learn about the film greater than her. There's no similarity whatsoever between Talaash and Kahaani but somehow mischief makers are hell bent on establishing that. She was forthcoming enough to inform everyone who cared to invite that the 2 films were dissimilar. Still, there are some available in the market who're unwilling to hold the proper side of affairs. They're happy to construct their very own assumptions and spread false stories", says a pal of the director.
No one related to Talaash is overtly disturbed though with such loose talk and is solely letting it pass by as another piece of gossip that is available in after which disappears in a jiffy. Also, the makers are of a robust view that the instant film's promotional campaign kick-starts and newer visuals are revealed, all such comparisons with Kahaani would become a narrative of the past.
Says Reema, "Talaash is a wholly original film and it's surprising that comparisons are being made with Kahaani. When someone called to invite me about this first, I clearly stated that there has been no truth to it. However, it sort of feels people only desired to highlight the gossip part and within the process the actual truth was lost somewhere."
She reiterates that the delay was because of Aamir's show and there's no other reason. "IF TRUTH BE TOLD Talaash is totally ready and its first cut can be seen soon by Aamir. However, contrary to a couple other rumours floating around, there's no re-shoot happening whatsoever, least of all as a result of its climax being allegedly very similar to that of Kahaani. Puhleeze, it is all untrue. For the record, Talaash is completely different form Kahaani."
When contacted, Riteish Sidhwani maintained the stance. He said, "I HAVE NEVER seen Kahaani but whatever I'VE examine it or caught throughout the promos, it isn't in any respect like Talaash."
Guess that might finally silence wagging tongues!
