RGV to unveil first look of 2611 film in front of policemen

On November 23, the intrepid Ram Gopal Varma will show QUARTER-HOUR of his film at the ghastly 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai in 2008. Present on the unveiling of what promises to be another controversial RGV film could be people closely associated with the incident that shook Mumbai.

Says Ramu, "That's right. We're inviting the policemen who were desirous about those attacks and the immediate survivors for the first-look launch on November 23. I did this film after extensive research and after having conducted in-depth interviews with not just the involved policemen but in addition with the survivors and so on both directly and indirectly connected to these incidents."

In his characteristically unfazed manner, Ramu seems unaware that the screening of the first-look of a movie on an incident that shook Mumbai city so with reference to the date when it happened four years ago, could open up old wounds that will never heal, and likewise cause new a brand new hurt and resentment among Mumbaikars.

Says the filmmaker, "The terrorist attacks of 26/11 were one of the vital horrific happenings in post independence India and the intention of the film is to truthfully portray the emotional aspects of these tragic moments. So it's nothing to do with the launch date being near or far to the anniversary date nevertheless it is to do with the actual intent of creating this film. I'M showing a 15-minute sequence of the hole with a purpose to clearly establish the aim and the intent of why a movie in this subject was made."

Ramu says he's sure the policemen and survivors from the 26/11 attack would empathize along with his intentions when they see what he has done. "Never within the history of the sector were there more terrifying attacks than those who happened on 9/11 in Big apple. But considering the sheer audacity in their execution, I felt the attacks of 26/11 on Mumbai were way more shocking."

In the film Ramu has shown the precise sequence of events on that horrific night. "MANY PEOPLE know of the attacks which happened that night but only a few people have an information of the way they happened and that's exactly what we felt must be known to everyone on this planet and hence we decided to make this film both for the Indian and international audiences."

The cast, says Ramu, consists mostly of unknown actors. "THE FORGED is totally new together with some known actors. However the known actors were taken for his or her acting talent as opposed to their existing image."
