Ashish Lakhia, the 49 year old renowned art director, who, has to his credit of providing his expertise to films like Holi, Mirch Masala and Maya Memsaab departed for heavenly abode yesterday morning. The cause of his death is being cited as multiple organ failure along with his lungs giving way first, followed by other complications.
Even though the surname may act as a giveaway, still, not many know that Ashish happened to be the cousin brother of director Apoorva Lakhia and in addition the brother of actor Aditya Lakhia (known for his 'Kachara's role in Lagaan). Besides being an art director par excellence, Ashish was also a painter or even had an exhibition on the Jehangir Art Gallery about TWENTY YEARS ago, that was well received.
Bollywood Hungama sincerely prays for the departed soul of Ashish Lakhia to rest in eternal peace.
