According to the industry buzz, Nana Patekar, who's making a return after eight years with Ram Gopal Varma's Ab Tak Chhappan sequel, may be teaming with the filmmaker for his next. Apparently, RGV has roped in Nana to play Rakesh Maria in his next in accordance with the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.
Rakesh Maria is the manager of Anti Terrorist Squad and was in command of leading the investigations to the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. Kay Kay Menon's role in Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday was also modeled on Rakesh Maria.
According to the reports, RGV had also approached, Sanjay Dutt and Kamal Haasan for a similar role. A source just about Ramu spills the beans, "Yes, Ramu had also approached Sanjay and Kamal but Nana was always Ramu's first choice. He had approached Nana for the role while he was still shooting Ab Tak Chhappan. Nana didn't give his nod to be a part of the project then but if they met again recently and Ramu gave him the narration, Nana agreed to do it. He found the role quite interesting. They still must do the formalities of signing the deal."
