Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who co-owns an Indian Premier League (IPL) team, believes that releasing films in the course of the tournament is a risk that he would never take.
“If someone is releasing it (a film), they know what they're doing. But I'D actually think twice, especially in the course of the tournament. To start with yes, you'll take a chance, but not within the middle and not on the end, I wouldn’t release a film,” the 46-year-old, who co-owns Kolkata Knight Riders, said here on the unveiling of Nokia brand campaign for IPL 5.
“If you're going to analyze it some individuals are releasing their films, yes they're taking a possibility since the matches happen mostly 8-11 in order that show will also be affected if it’s a very powerful match. I'D give it some thought if I'M releasing a movie as a producer,” he added.
Shah Rukh says there are filmmakers, who hold back films and judge on releasing them post-IPL.
“People do stay up for IPL. Post-IPL has become a period where people assume that there's a want of flicks and you may release your film once the season gets over. In order that tells you that may be a very powerful part where people hold back their films,” Shah Rukh said.
