Tezz director Priyadarshan wants Mallika Sherawat's item number 'Laila' removed out from the overall edit of the film as he feels that the song doesn't fit into the film.
Mallika was precipitated board by producer Ratan Jain regardless of Priyadarshan wanting the film's actress Sameera Reddy to gyrate at the track. Jain went went ahead and shot the song with choreographer Ganesh Acharya.
Priyadarshan doesn't have anything against item numbers or Mallika Sherawat, however it is simply that he feels that there's no scope for this song within the film because the film is an entire action thriller. The song was shot without Priyadarshan or every other crew member and appears different from the remainder of the film. While producer Ratan Jain feels that the audience won't care if the song looks different from the remainder of the film, for them it's only an item number and as a businessman he must include this song because it sells.
The producer and director might be having a gathering today where a last call in regards to the the song may be taken.
