Vivek Oberoi hasn't had a movie release for nearly two years now [RAKHT CHARITRA was his last release]. But come October and the actor may have two films vying for audience attention. What puts Vivek in a clumsy situation is that the 2 films in question, JAYANTABHAI KI LUV STORY and KLPD - KISMET LOVE PAISA DILLI are slated for release at the same day, on 5 October.
Of course, it goes without saying that no actor wish to have two films clashing at the same date, but as things stand today, the respective producers, Kumar Taurani and Amit Chandra, respectively don't seem to be able to budge from that date. "Picture ek hi aani chahiye," Kumar Taurani informs me, "Well, it isn't a perfect idea to have two films of the similar actor releasing at the same date. It isn't good for the producer, it is not good for the actor in addition. I WILL BE ABLE TO speak about JAYANTABHAI KI LUV STORY, it's definitely arriving on 5 October."
Amit Chandra, the producer of KLPD - KISMET LOVE PAISA DILLI, echoes similar sentiments. However, Amit made a proper announcement of the discharge date of his film at an event on Sunday, when he unveiled the primary look of the film. However the question is, is it healthy trend to have two releases at the same day? "IT IS NOT. Ideally, there have to be a considerable gap between two films. Come to consider it, how would an actor promote two films simultaneously? Would it confuse the audience?" Amit reasons.
Has Amit spoken to Kumar Taurani about it? "Yes, I did... I'M HOPING he blinks first [smiles]. I AM HOPING he's sweet enough to shift his film ahead," Amit states. What's Vivek's stance at the entire thing? "I guess, Vivek wants Kumar-ji and me to sort it out amongst ourselves," Amit adds. Let's have a look at who blinks first!
YJHD vs Lootera - KJo vs Ekta clash or a sensible move
Even as one remains to be looking to work out whether this Diwali would witness some of the biggest clashes of the new times with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn taking over each other, here's the most recent development. Apparently, heavy weights Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor have finalised the similar date for his or her respective productions, hence resulting in whispers throughout the industry circles if all is indeed well between the duo.
"Their Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Lootera are progressing quite well and both Karan and Ekta are extremely gung-ho about their respective films. However, now they appear to have penciled within the same date for his or her release. Not only is that this unhealthy, it is usually very surprising since in real life they're thick friends and would never allow clash of any kind, whether personal or professional", informs a source.
This was evident from the truth that when promotion of Ekta's recent release Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum kick-started, Karan was gracious enough to lend a couple of shots from his Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum. He was also quite a sport when his Dostana was spoofed within the film. However, it is extremely surprising that both need to arrive at the same date now.
"Both Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Lootera are romantic films and have hearthrobs like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranvir Singh. It might be unfair to pit them against each other", a veteran filmmaker adds, "Perhaps that is only a stop gap arrangement at the a part of both filmmakers as they might not want anyone else to eye the similar slot. It's actually a sensible step because later considered one of them will quietly move out, hence paving the way in which for other to have a free run."
This sounds logical as well, because the 2 also are expected to start out a movie soon with first time director Akshay Roy. Guess the perceived clash was only a watch wash though you can safely presume that the solid would surely be heaving a sigh of relief.
We tried contacting Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor but they selected to not comment.

Jism 2 love-making scenes reduced by half
Sunny Leone won't be making out as passionately with Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh because the director Pooja Bhatt wanted them to in Jism 2. AN OVERLY reliable source from the censor board tells us that each one the love-making scenes featuring the irrepressible Sunny Leone in passionate contact along with her two co-stars Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh has been reduced by half.
Says the source, "There are four major love-making scenes in Jism 2, three featuring Leone with Randeep Hooda and one with Arunoday Singh. Each of those was 2-3 minutes long .We asked Pooja Bhatt to scale back them to 1- 1 ½ minutes each."
Apparently, Pooja Bhatt agreed to conform with the cuts instead of go together with the film to the Revising Committee.
Says our source from the Censor Board Of Film Certification, "Pooja did argue. But she had clearly come to us with lengthy love-making scenes. We've nothing against characters making love on screen so long as they get their mutual feeling across without over-staying their welcome. We collectively felt the 4 love-making scenes in Jism 2 were over-staying their welcome. Once the mutual passion between the 2 partners was establishment there has been little need to prolong the erotic content."
The last time the love-making scenes were reduced was in Vivek Agnihotri's Hate Story.
Says the source from the CBFC, "WITHIN THE other film too, once the purpose was put across, the love-making was unnecessarily prolonged. We often get the sensation that filmmakers come to us with deliberately enhanced erotic or abuse content within the hope that we would cut some and leave the remaining. In terms of Joker the makers had come to us with a song that went 'I Want Fakht You'. Their argument that fakht is the Marathi for 'only' made no grammatical sense within the song. We naturally asked for a metamorphosis. Surprisingly the Joker team had an alternate ready. So obviously they'd anticipated censor trouble and a standby was ready."

Filmmaking losing its iconic identity: Shekhar Kapur
New Delhi, Are you able to shoot a video to your phone? If yes, you’re a filmmaker, says Shekhar Kapur, who feels technology has made filmmaking a better type of art.
“Filmmaking is a special ballgame now altogether. You'll upload your videos and get as many as 75 million hits. That’s not likely a figure you could even reach through theatres. There are just about 12,000 theatres in India. So filmmaking, I believe, is undergoing change and it's losing its iconic identity,” Kapur said here.
The acclaimed filmmaker made his directorial debut in 1983 with “Masoom”, and gradually helmed projects like “Bandit Queen”, “Mr.India” and “Elizabeth”.
He had no formal training in movie making, but says he had the “passion”.
“Making a movie was once a large thing in my times. It was about shooting on 35 mm, it was about collecting film stock to shoot anything, and about approaching distributors and theatres for screening the film.
“Today, if you wish to be a filmmaker, you'll just be one with a phone! You don’t need the infrastructure, you've gotten it ready in some form or the other… Luckily, there’s somebody who has given the infrastructure to the present generation within the type of technology. So use that,” he added.
Kapur motivated young, aspiring filmmakers on the ongoing 12th Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival here Tuesday, to follow their passion for movies with a vengeance, and by taking advantage of all available resources.
“There is not any problem in creating a film. If in case you have a narrative to tell, you are able to do it despite the fact that you've got a phone which takes video, there’s no problem! But yes, if you would like your film to make Rs.100 crore, then you definately have a large problem,” said the 66-year-old. – IANS
